Underworld Quest Walkthrough

Walkthrough and detailed map of Kesmian Isles Underworld Quest.

Underworld Locations
uwmap.jpg

To deal with chaotic or evil critters, the best thing is to run away.  The skill and
experience gains in the UW are negligible, so it simply is not worth your time to start
a fight in most cases. You may have to kill a few critters in order to get some objects
(e.g. spirits sometimes yield light wands, sandwyrms can have portal gems and the
archer has the bow).

The fastest way to travel from anywhere in the Underworld back to the temple is by
killing yourself.  Unlike the regular game, any quest items you are holding in your hands when
you die, will go back with you. Since death is irrelevant in the UW, you can save much
time by walking into fire.  One IMPORTANT note, this is not the
preferred method of travel if you have any karma points.  That will be covered with Set the Forgiver.

One more VERY important note on getting to the Underworld.  Assuming you have not been
eaten, the fastest way to get to the Underworld is to use the portal located in the Kes city graveyard.  The reasons to do this are most
high level players would rather spend one to two hours in the UW than losing sometimes
irreplaceable stats or hitpoints. If you have been resurrected by a healer and find you need to go to the UW to restore
skill levels and stat points, go to the bank or your house and store all your belongings that you want to save.  Then go to the graveyard and use the portal. This portal can not be activated by double clicking the portal hex. When you have saved all your possessions go to the graveyard north of Kes city and go into the gate..turn west and on the west side of the graveyard are 2 tombstones with a shrine of some type in between them. These 2 tombstones have a patch of dirt in front of the tombstones. Stand on one of these dirt patch hexes and say "Urruku ya zi xul". Lightning will flash and you will be zapped dead.

When you first get to the UW you will find yourself as a ghost in a white temple.  Double klik the shrine next to you and you will be resurrected. Then type "Osiris heal" to be fully restored . Each time you die you will return to the Temple, near Osiris.

"Osiris teach"....then "osiris yes"- Stomach Quest

1. Lead a suitable pet to my son. (Tiger Quest)

The tiger is located due north of the temple at the northern tip of the island. Beware the evil archer who lies in wait there! If you have take the initiative to tame a cobra before departing on this quest, have it attack the archer. Take the bow from the archer in case you have the bow quest given to you on your second quest.

When you lead the  tiger to Horus the tiger will turn into a tiger figurine.
With the figurine in your pack say "'Horus teach" . Horus will drop an amulet in your pack and tell you to take it to his mother, Isis. With the amulet in your pack say 'Isis teach'.  Isis will give you her blessing and send you to see
Imhotep.  Go to Imhotep and say 'Imhotep teach' and she will grant you a stomach.

2.  Get a bell from one who was queen.

Go to Tiy, who is on the west side of the temple in the desert in the 3rd building down the walkway.  Say 'Tiy
teach ' and she will drop a bell and send you to Nepherteri who is in a building to the north. With the bell in your pack say :"Nepherteri teach", she sends you to Imhotep back in the temple.
Imhotep gives you a stomach.

3.  Go inquire of the locksmith. (Key Quest)

Go to Khenty who is located just to the southeast of the temple entrance.  Khenty will give you a key and tell you to go see the magician, Thutmose.
Thutmose is in the far northwest in the graveyard.. With the key in your sack say "Thutmose teach" and Thutmose will tell you to see Imhotep.  Imhotep gives you a stomach.

Anubis - Intestine Quest

1.  Take a special bow to the goddess of the hunt. (Bow quest)

Go to the same area where the tigers are found and in the extreme north corner
there is a chaotic NPC archer.  Kill the archer and take the bow to the goddess of the hunt, Neith. Neith is located just east of the temple down the wide passageway. Neith will grant you intestines.

One time saving hint for doing these quests.  If you are sent to find a tiger by
Osirus, you can also go kill the NPC and take the bow too. When you finish with the
quest given by Osirus, go see Aunubis next. When you see Anubis, the odds are about
50/50 you will get the bow quest, in which case you are ahead of the game and can go
directly to Neith.

2.  Lead a lawful crocodile to the god of the river (Croc Quest)

Go to the tip in the far west part of the UW and find the lawful crocodile. Tame the croc using animal taming... this make take several tries  and lead him to the far east edge of the city to the docks to Sobek the Dolphin.  (taming a cobra along the way allows you to have another ally on the long trip back) When you and the croc reach the edge of the docks  the croc will turn into a croc gem . Say "Sobek teach". He will tell you which of the two nymphs to go to in order to complete the quest.  One nymph is just south of him by the ocean and the other is at the Far west  edge of the
ocean. The  nymph will give you a gem to take back to Nehebku, in the south part of the temple,  who will grant you intestines.

Khnumeri - Lung Quest

Khnumeri is found in the building on the far north east side of the city..with steps leading up to the door. Go inside the building and go behind the waterfall and follow the passage into the wall where you will teleport into a dark room. Double klik the wall north of you to reveal a hidden door (or use the  hot key setup for "open door"). Cross the small room to another wall with another hidden door and she is in that room on the east side. Say "Khnumeri teach"

1.  Seek the most beautiful woman, she will give you lightness. Jump in the fire and die and appear in temple.

Go to Cleopatra, who will give you feather fall boots and tell you to see either Pekhet or Montu.  The entrance to the air hexes is southeast of Cleopatra  in a building just north east of neith. Kill a sandwyrm because you will need a portal gem.

A. If you are told to see Pehket, go to the building that holds the air hexes and  as in the below illustration jump into the air hex noted while wearing the boots.walk down the hall way and stay left when the hallway splits. Remove the boots, place them into your pack and say "Pekhet teach".  Pehket will grant you lungs.(illustration:.....o= portal hex....p is the correct portal)

                 Ioooo
      west    Ioopo                east
                 I-----------

B. If you are told to see Montu Do the same thing as for the pekhet quest except turn south when the hallway splits. Put the boots in your pack and say "Montu teach". Montu gives you a light wand and tells you to seek the daemon master...who is Khepri. Khepri is located in the graveyard at the far Northwest of the temple, guarded by 2 demons/Balrons. Run into his room and say "Khepri Teach" and he will grant you lungs.

Sekmet - Liver Quest

1. The god Ra shall be your guide.

You go to Ra, who is located near Osirus.  Ra has two quests that he
can give you.

A. Seek the wisdom of Ptah.  Ptah is located In the building at the far north west side of town with steps leading up into it.(see Khnumeri quest) go up to ptah and say " ptah liver" many many times because he is deaf.  Ptah will give you a liver. Jump into the fire and if this is the 4th quest you have completed you are done
B. Take a cobra to Re.Harakhti (Cobra Quest).

Tame a blue cobra and lead it out of the temple then turn south past the chessboard to a building by the water. Re.Harakhti is in the building so lead the cobra into his room. The cobra will turn into a gem. Put it into your pack and walk into the same hex as Re.Harakhti and say "Re.Harakhti teach". he will grant you a liver.

2.  Inquire of my brother.

Go to Nefertem, who is located just to the south of Sekmet in the same building. Nefertem has the same choice of quests as Ra, described above.

Return to Life

Now you are ready to follow the yellow brick road back to the land of the living. When
you get to the very end of the yellow path, you will teleport in front of the inn in north kes city. Anything you are
carrying will be lost, so don't bother trying to bring any treasure with you. In fact,
it is a nice idea to leave any useful items you may have accumulated in the Temple as a
help to other lost souls.

Tip #1:

When quest requires you to lead an animal to a Ghod, bring more than one. When the animals get close to the Ghod they turn into gems that can be placed in your sack, and double kliked for later when you need an animal assisting you.

Tip # 2:

When going to a Ghod who is in a place where you have to die to get out, leave your bandaids and other items not necessary for the quest on the ground somewhere out of the way, to be retrieved when you are revived in the temple.

Tip # 3:

Use quest animals to kill the evil archer and sandwyrms to harvest a bow and red portal gems just in case you need them for later quests
